Name-Drop Wines Cellar
The elite wines you need to know to get ahead
If you’re just starting to go to your first fancy business dinners with clients or investors, there are a handful of wines that always come up. You should just know what they are.
Welcome to our “Name-Drop Wines” Cellar, where I give you all of the details on the fancy, expensive wines that people love to order, or at least name-drop at business dinners and in other elite settings. Whether you’re about to enter the professional world, in a corporate role looking to impress your boss, in a sales role looking to woo a client, or generally seeking to level up, becoming familiar with these wines will help you look - and feel - less out of place, more confident, and more sophisticated.
This list is already pretty comprehensive, and is based off my years of personal experience getting my bearings in elite universities, a top corporate law firm, and a multi-billion dollar investment firm, but I plan to add to it over time. This knowledge helped me bond with bosses, mentors and professors whom I otherwise had nothing in common with, build my own client relationships even while in the most junior roles, and feel more confident in settings I was never exposed to growing up. I’m happy to pass this on, so that you don’t have to stumble through your initial client dinners or elite work happy hours like I did.
